BVA mourns the passing of Ron Norton on February 2, 2020 after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.
Ron was an EMT for more than 30 years, providing skilled and compassionate emergency care to countless patients. In the EMS community, he was referred to simply by his last name. Everyone knew Norton! He worked at Brighton Ambulance, Monroe Ambulance, and Penfield Ambulance as an EMT and Field Training Officer, always willing to share his knowledge with new EMTs so they could become better providers. See one, be one, teach one.
Norton loved to talk politics, never hesitating to share his opinions and quips about politicians. He was rarely seen without a full cup of coffee within reach. A humble, friendly, witty man with a great smile and a huge heart, he considered his EMS friends and coworkers as family. He will be often remembered and sadly missed.
