Group CPR

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course and Renewal Course

Based on the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC. This class is taught in a practice-while-watching format and presents demonstrations of emergency cardiovascular care procedures for adults, children and infants, including:

  • One- and two-rescuer CPR
  • Delivery of high-quality chest compressions and appropriate ventilation
  • Early AED use
  • Relief of choking.

Cost: $60 for original; $40 for renewal.

Heartsaver CPR AED

This instructor-led, classroom-based Heartsaver CPR AED course teaches adult CPR AED. The manual is based on the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC. The workbook includes:

  • Adult CPR AED
  • Adult choking relief
  • Child CPR AED (optional module)
  • Infant CPR (optional module)
  • Child and infant choking relief (optional module).

Cost: $40/person or $70/person with First Aid.

Heartsaver First Aid

This instructor-led, classroom-based course teaches critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. The manual is based on the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC. The workbook includes:

  • First aid basics (including scene safety, finding the problem, and calling for help)
  • Medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, and shock)
  • Injury emergencies (including actions for bleeding, broken bones, and burns)
  • Environmental emergencies (including actions for bites and stings, and temperature-related and poison emergencies)

Cost: $40/person or $70/person with CPR.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

This instructor-led, classroom- and video-based course is an essential resource for training physicians, nurses, and emergency medical care providers in PALS.  Based on the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC.

We will use a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. The manual includes:

  • Pediatric emergencies
  • Concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment
  • BLS
  • PALS treatment algorithms
  • Effective resuscitation
  • Team dynamics.

This continuing education activity is approved by the American Heart Association.

Cost: $225 for original or $175 for renewal.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

This essential training for physicians, nurses, and emergency medical care providers is based on the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC.

The classroom- and video-based, instructor-led course builds on the foundation of lifesaving skills from the BLS for Healthcare Providers course. Skills are taught in large-group sessions and small-group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. The manual includes:

  • The importance of continuous, high-quality CPR
  • Team dynamics and communication
  • Systems of care
  • Immediate post-cardiac-arrest care
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology.

This continuing education activity is approved by the American Heart Association.

Cost: $175 for original or $125 for renewal.

Family & Friends® CPR DVD with Facilitator Guide
($35/person)

This course uses the research-proven, practice-while-watching format. The course can be taught by American Heart Association instructors or led by facilitators such as community members, family members, or friends who wish to help teach lifesaving CPR skills. This fast and affordable course offers an ideal way to reach members of the general public who want to learn CPR in an instructor-led or facilitated group environment, but do not need certification.

The DVD presents demonstrations of emergency cardiovascular care procedures for adults, children, and infants, including:

  • Hands-Only™ CPR
  • Adult AED use
  • Child CPR and AED use
  • Infant CPR
  • Adult, child, and infant choking relief.

Cost: $35/person.
