**BVA does not offer an EMT Original training class.**

Your first step in Emergency Medical Services is to take a NYS EMT Original training class. This ~100-hour course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to care for the sick and injured in a prehospital setting. Topics include the recognition and treatment of respiratory and circulatory emergencies, trauma, medical emergencies, environmental injuries, emergency childbirth, and psychological emergencies. When you successfully complete the course, you are eligible to take the NYS EMT certification exam.
